Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for:
  • The weekend. Gracie gets to dress up (pictures to come) and we are going to make treats and take them to the neighbors
  • What comes after this weekend. After Halloween, it's then time to decorate for Christmas!!!!!
  • my little superstar. She now loves to wear her sunglasses.
  • work time with Daddy. She could spend (and does!) hours in the garage with him.
  • restful days. I'm glad that Shane had vacation and that he did get some down time.

  • Moments with Grace. She doesn't sit long anymore and she's not into giving kisses as much. She is too busy- too much to do. And there are way more cool people than her mama! :) But at least once a day she will stop and take a break and let me read to her or just sit with her. I love it.

Where We've Been Part 3

Shane's cousin Aundrea and her family came to say hi.
Grandma Shirley and Uncle Danny
On Saturday before we left we went to War Eagle Mill. It was a beautiful afternoon.
The view from the bridge
Shirley, Shane, Gracie, and Aunt Trenda
Grace loved being able to run after being cooped up in the car. She was not thrilled to pose for her mama here!

On our way home we wanted to stop by the Arch but then we decided to just get home. So this is as close as she got! :)

Where We've Been Part 2

Shane's Uncle Danny and his family were dog sitting. Grace LOVED Angel. She was enthralled with the cage and that she could get so close. The dog was very gentle- and Grace loved poking her hands through the cage to pet Angel.

We were blessed to get a hotel in Bentonville with two rooms. That way we didn't have to go to bed when Grace did each night!

Where we've been Part 1

We've been on the road! We left on Wednesday last week to head to Arkansas to visit Shane's Uncle and his family. We picked up Grandma Shirley in Indy and we were off! Gracie did a great job in the car. She had a special event happen. We've had her rear facing in her big carseat up until now but we figured with the long ride it was a good time to change her to front facing! (I'd still like her to be rear facing but I thought that may help the 10 plus hour drive).
This was another fun activity. Watching MOVIES!

When we got to Bentonville we went to the mall to eat. There was a carousel there. Gracie was fascinated. She would NOT quit looking at it, even to eat. I took her on but she threw a fit about sitting on the horses so we sat on a bench and she had fun waving to Daddy and Grandma.

Grace's future....

Jodi, thank you for this great T-Shirt! Grace loves it. She KNOWS that this is where she's going to college so she's happy to represent so young.
It's very roomy too. Like when she eats too much and has to stick her belly out? Yeah, there's room.
The future is open wide... what will she be? I'm guessing something social!

And this was what happened when I told her that she had to consider other schools too. Like CMU and Ball State. ha ha!

Things to do on Vacation- by Gracie

Things to do on vacation:

build a campfire. Daddy is good at it.
Roast marshmallows with Uncle Shawn and Nicki and Grandma and my cousins (ok I was in bed by this point but that's what THEY did)
run around the yard with Rilee and Reese and play tag and try to do cartwheels ( have you seen my mom TRY to do a cartwheel?!)

get lots of hugs from my cousins
Then, when you are on vacation and you wake up with a runny nose and just don't feel good, you can get into a sleeping bag with your daddy and stay in your jammies all day and just be sick.
You can watch movies and go way down into the sleeping bag. If you have a glow worm, you can take it with you so it's not dark in there.

The End.

Nap Time Happenings

Here is another nap time happening. She was off schedule, I think because of MOPS, so I tried to lay her down later for another nap and she played/fussed in her crib for about an hour. When I went to get her I left the light off and tried to pick her up to rock her but then I started laughing when I felt bare skin! Please Lord, never let her find her diaper!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for:
  • Time away. It wasn't what we had planned but we had a great time away in Indy this past week.
  • Garage Sales! Shirley and I hit a TON of them this weekend in Indy. I didn't know that people had them in October. I spent $50 and here is some of what I got.. pottery barn curtains, two CM scrapbook pages, 1 dvd, shoes for G. a bag, an Elmo stuffed animal, about 10 pair of pjs, about 15 shirts, about 10 pair of pants, 3 dresses, etc... All of that for $50! I didn't pay over $2.00 for anything. I was buying for Grace and for my friend's daughter (she passes it all down to Gracie!). It was so much fun!
  • Vacation- Shane's taking vacation this week and next. It's fun to have him home and to catch up on some projects
  • Thursday nights with friends! I'm headed to Ft. Wayne tonight to have dinner and watch tv with some awesome friends. Can't wait!

She just started coloring! We are working on not eating the crayons though. Speaking of them.. how do you say crayons? Do you say it like "craans" or "crowns"? I remember laughing at a blog I read when she said her husband says it like crowns and she totally made fun of him. Well guess what? Mine does too!

And this is just a fun picture for Grandpa. We like having you and Grandma at our house Grandpa. Come back soon!

Fall Fall Fall

We like fall. Grace loves being outside. She carried that bucket all around and collected acorns. It was fun. Then she would fall down and use her hands to push herself up, thus losing all the acorns and starting over again.

Catching up

We went to Michigan two weeks ago for my cousin's wedding. It threatened rain but the wedding was perfect! We got there a bit early and headed to the playground. Grace "needed" to bring her monkey with her.

Seriously. She's fearless. She does not stop to look for us- to see if we are coming. She's all about ready or not....
She did let us catch up to her and she posed for her mama.

My cousin John. Grace was all over the place! I was thankful for Dad, and everyone else who kept track of her.
Ready for this caption? Well.. I don't know who these people are! They had a baby and Gracie was enthralled. She started off by looking at the baby and then before we knew it she was on this grandpas lap, just staring at the baby!
My parents and sister and our kids. :)

It was a great day, a beautiful wedding, and a fun time with family.

Nap Time Happenings

Grace doesn't like going down for a nap but she wakes up happy. She usually plays in her bed for about 20-30 minutes.
She especially likes to read in bed!
She has not been a fan of this changing weather. The first time I put long sleeves on her she threw a fit! She pulled and bit at her sleeves. She was not happy.

Here is what she decided to do with them at nap time. If they're bugging- just take them off!
