Gavin

I'm sitting here while my oldest two are playing a game (nicely!) and my 6 day old son is napping.  I feel "full" of blessings. He is such a sweet miracle.  Here are a ton of pictures and some random thoughts.
His birth was great (minus the pain and labor part. ha!)  I went into labor early early on the 24th and he was born 13 hours later.
When he was born I cried hard.  It felt like it was such a long time in him coming and we waited so long for him. Then he was here and healthy and what a blessing.
The nurses at our hospital are so great.  They were so sweet to us and made sure that we were in a different room than the one we had Ella in.  Our day nurse, Lisa was so supportive when I was in pain and so encouraging when I would check on him and ask if he was doing well.
I guessed that he would be 8lbs.  Shane guessed 7 3/4.  He was one ounce less than his big brother!

We stayed just one night in the hospital as we wanted to get home to our kids and celebrate Christmas with Gavin.  Seriously, there is nothing better than a sleeping baby on your chest is there?

Our kids are in love with their brother!

And this is blurry but look how cute my big kids are with their superhero daddy!

SNOW!

We had about 8 inches of snow over the weekend.  It was so pretty! (well, for me it was, I didn't have to shovel or drive in it!)  We took a walk with the kids and they had a great time.

Graham is VERY into making snow angels.  Only he can't get up by himself so you have to pull him up. It reminds me of The Christmas Story where Raphie's little brother is all bundled up!
Our walk with our sweet neighbor friend Lea.
Look how white it is out there!
Snow angels can me made anywhere.  FYI.

39 weeks

Today I am 39 weeks and some change.  This little guy seems pretty comfy in there and that's ok.  He'll come when he's ready.  I'm fighting a bit of a cold so waiting isn't awful.  I'd like to be able to breathe in labor!

Today I stayed home from church and Shane took the kids.  They came home excited about what they had learned and Gracie liked that her Daddy volunteered and saw her in kids worship

Today Grandma Shirley came and will stay until #4 comes.  We are thankful for family!

Today the kids watched Turbo and had popcorn and fudge.  A Hartman family tradition.

Today was a good day!

Snow Days

Shane took the kids down south for a few days last week, right when the winter storm hit!  (While I had a great few days ALONE!  Pedi, mani, girl time, alone time..  it was lovely!)  He said they had a total of about 12 inches!
The kids had such fun playing and sledding (on our driveway!!)
And on our deck!  I have a feeling this area will be their "yard" this winter.
Sissy buried herself in the snow.
And boy got himself "stuck"  He had a few moments of needing his daddy's help!

While I enjoyed my few days with my family gone I was happy to see them come back- I missed them!

38 weeks

Here I am, ALL 38 weeks of me.  Ha!  Seriously though, the last week has been much better for me.  I was in a lot of pain in my hips and sleeping was pretty miserable but this past week I've slept well. I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon though, he seems pretty content. :)
Here is the carseat cover my sweet friend made.  I love it!  It's a little retro and the blue is so so soft.

(The other material has cars on it too!)
And soon, there will be a little Hartman all snuggled down in there.  Can't wait!

Randomness (again!)

Life is taken with my iphone lately... and then I just email the pics to my blog.  Thus the random post again!  Here is a sweet little elephant I got for #4 on Black Friday.  Look for him with some weekly baby pics. :)
My friend Jessica is fantastic at sewing.  She offered to make the baby a car seat cover.  Here is the material I picked.
Can you see Graham's race tracks?  He got creative and made a person complete with eyes, smile, arms and legs!
a better view.  This "person" will most likely have trouble walking with such uneven legs!
And last..  look at this sweetness.  My cousin Amy is so talented and she made this hat and diaper cover for our baby.  I LOVE LOVE it and can't wait to put him in it!

Ornaments with Grandma

My mom came to visit a few weeks ago and one of the fun things we did was go and paint our own Christmas ormaments!  Graham chose a gingerbread man and he went to town painting it!
Mom picked a snowflake.  I didn't realize how much I would enjoy doing it myself (I picked a stocking and put Ella's name on it)  I thought we would really just let the kids do it, but it was fun!
My little lady.  Her first painted ornament was a star and she was two I think?  She was so much more attentive this year!
Grace did a great job putting colors on her (second!) star.  She made stripes on one side and put her name on the other.  It was a great day and I think we may need to make it a yearly tradition!
