  • swimming pools and summer fun
  • creative little girls who like to dress up
  • good friends who call, visit, share, and love
  • The promise of a weekend with my family, doing nothing but being together.

Mother's Day 2012

 I've had a great Mother's Day.  Shane wasn't feeling well but the kids and I have been outside all weekend.  We've been planting, playing, getting dirty.  So much fun.  I'm thankful for my family.  And for the mothers in my life!

And I'm especially thankful for the mama that raised me.   What I love best about you mom, is your consistency.  I KNOW you are always there for me and Shane and the kids.  I love how you take time out of your week, EVERY week to send me and the kids something to let us know you are thinking of us.  I love how you listen so closely to my kids and you always want to hear their cute little voices.  Some of my favorite memories are of playing softball with you, camping, your soft voice in the morning when you'd wake me up, the way you make the BEST cup of tea, and how when you get laughing really, really, hard you almost can't stop.  You are so thoughtful in the little things.  My favorite things to share with you are a cup of tea, a good book, and coffee with the "girls".  :)  I love you!

And one of the best parts of all my "moms'?  They love the Lord and have done their best to raise Shane and I, and now our kids, to trust in Him.  It can't get much better than that!

Flying a kite

 We had this kite in our garage.  We don't know where it came from (anyone know? :) ) but it is a GREAT kite and we used it in Florida.  It was so easy to fly.
 Gracie liked trying it out.
 Graham liked throwing sand.
 This is a bad pic of a sea turtle!  It was so big!  He/She was trying to get past the waves and out to sea. So cool.
 Seaside has fun little places like this for picture moments.  Kristi got one with me and the kids, I'll have to upload that one too.
 And Seaside has this great ampitheatre/play area.  My kids LOVED it!  Can you see Graham in the orange?
 We watched the sun set from the beach.
Someone didn't actually choose to put his feet in the sand.  In fact, he did everything he could to stop it from happening, like holding his feet up every time you put him down!

 We are back from a great vacation to Florida!  Our friends, The Beers moved down there last year and we've been waiting to visit them for a long time!  We got there and didn't waste much time hitting the beach!  Grace did great this year and was a bit more adventurous in the water.  (graham= notsomuch)
 We love Alex and Caroline.  They are great with our kids, even though they are younger.  Grace cannot get enough of playing with them.
 The water was great the first day, not too rough and the sun was perfect!
 We stayed just down the road from the Beers so there was lots of swimming at our pool.  :)
 And lots of eating out!  We had some great food.  I think my favorite was Backyard BBQ.  The best nachos ever! (or River, or Old Southern, or...  ok, we ate a lot of great food!)
 This was where we stayed.  The pool is RIGHT in front of it!  It was great for running in and out and for quick swims.
 Graham slowly got used to the water.  He loved the big steps where he could play and do his own thing but he sometimes let us take him out in the deeper water.
