She doesn't know her own strength
This week I was giving Gracie a bath. I stopped for a second to look at her. She's getting so big and doesn't need constant support in the tub now. As I was looking at her... she farted. But that's not the funny part. What is so funny is that it kind of vibrated off of the tub and scared her!!!! She jumped up and her little lip came out like she was going to cry. TOO CUTE. :)

11 weeks
11 weeks old! (the crying one was taken first... I just thought she's cute, even when crying! :)
This dress was a bit big on her but I so wanted her to wear it. She has way too many cute summer things and it's going to get cold before she can wear them all! Go ahead, tell me how cute she is! :) Saying goodbye to Auntie Jayma. She's moving to Colorado! We will miss her lots.
my 32nd birthday. This was one of my best birthdays. being a mom is a great thing. I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but it has exceeded all expectations. God is so good. I am blessed.

Family
We had a Sherd family (my mom's side) get together yesterday at my sister's house. It was a lot of fun! (Thanks Shell!)
Little Miss slept the whole time! I think it was the best since that way everyone got to hold and cuddle her!
My cousin's little girl, Kadence loved Baby Grace and wanted to hold her. She did a fabulous job!
Is this not the most precious thing ever???? Seriously!

Wearing Gracie
This is my new baby wrap. The other I had I was borrowing from Jess. I love these! Gracie snuggles right in and falls asleep and I'm able to move around or like today, go over to Shane's office and print off some things. :) I'm still learning how to wrap it so those experts out there will have to excuse me. She's comfy and safe, that's what matters! If anyone one wants one of these (they are custom made for you!) go to www.secondnaturebabywraps.blogspot.com

Growing
Gracie is growing so fast! Here are a few pics of her snoozing in our bed on a late morning.
We went to a Loveall family reunion and also spent a weekend with Brad and Diane at the lake. It's been fun showing off Gracie! But I am thankful for the next two weeks of sleeping in our own bed and having more of a routine for her!
Today I was visiting with my friend Monica and Grace was playing on her mat on the floor. After a few minutes we realized she was being super quiet.... she had fallen asleep. That was her first time doing that. AND tonight I gave her a bath, rocked her a bit, then put her to bed and she fell asleep with NO crying! She's definitely growing :)

Thankful
I know this isn't Thursday, and that this blog is supposed to be about Gracie, but I wanted to write a thankful thursday post (like my friend Deanna!) anyway.
I am thankful for:
* sleep. If it comes in a nap, or a few hours, or 6 (whoohoo!), I am thankful for it. I have been feeling so much more like myself in the past few weeks
* that Gracie's fussy stage ended. I am sure I'll see much more of that, but for now she's doing great
* for smiles I get from her daily now
* for my husband. He put our honeymoon pictures on a slide show and we watched them after dinner last night "just to remember" :)
* for God's grace and goodness. He has made me for this time and I am excited about this stage of my life
Thankful Thursdays are a good time to remind yourself of all your blessings!

8 weeks
8 weeks old.. it's hard to get her to not move her arms and legs for a picture that isn't blurry!
She does smile.. I promise. She's just selective about when she gives them out.
"wearing Grace" back to the hotel. I had so many people stop and comment.. 'is that a baby in there?" and surprisingly many of them were men!
Gracie is 8 weeks old (yesterday). It seems like time has flown by. She is starting to smile so much more and is becoming very alert to her surroundings. She went with me to a women's conference in Indy this past weekend and she did great! I used a sling and a baby wrap and she slept most of the time. I have never been more popular! I had SO many ladies ooh and aah over her and smile at me wearing her in the wraps.
On Monday night Shane and I went out to dinner and a movie and left Gracie with a friend for the evening. We had a nice time and Gracie did great. It is a blessing to know that we have so many great friends who live nearby who can watch Grace since we don't have family that close. We are still in search of a responsible high schooler who we can get to "love" our family enough to be our long time babysitter. It was great to get out and just be with Shane. We know we need to make sure we schedule time for us.
I'm starting to read Gracie better. I can tell when she is fussing because she's hungry or tired, or if she just wants to be by herself for a bit. I realize (like my friend Jess says) that as soon as I think I have her down, she'll change on me, but I do like realizing that I know what she needs and can help.
Today is supposed to be cooler, so I'm hoping we can get outside for a nice long walk!
