First Christmas- Part 1
Merry Christmas everyone! We had a great time celebrating with Grace.

6 months
Grace turned 6 months old December 10th (on her Grandpa H's birthday!) As of yesterday she weighs 13 lbs 4 oz. and is 24 inches long. She's only in the 4th percentile but she's growing well!
At 6 months Grace:
- is very chatty and loves to babble- her daddy says it sounds like she's calling his name!
- can roll all around and often ends up stuck up against the couch or table
- likes to chew on everything! She loves the remote controls best.
- can sit up very well with support and is getting close to doing it on her own.
- has her first tooth and just last night the other bottom one popped through!
- sleeps very well! She goes down around 7:30 and gets up around 6:30
- eats lots and lots! She likes everything we've given her so far. She expecially loves oatmeal with a fruit mixed in
- has found our faces. She knows she can reach out now and touch our faces, put her hands in our mouths etc. She is grabbing for things now. She's gotten a glass of water, and now reaches for anything nearby.
- SMILES OFTEN!

First time swimming
I really don't understand.. NOW the first one I load... IS the first.. can anyone explain loading pictures to me? Why do they switch my order?
Anyway... Here is Grace's first time swimming. She liked it. I realize that in the picture above she doesn't exactly look like she enjoyed herself but that was taken the second day, right before her nap and she did not have a high tolerance for anything.

BREAKING NEWS
Literally.. Grace has her first tooth breaking through! :) that is pretty important news in the Hartman house everyone. I'm just letting you know.

Florida
Sweet. This one was supposed to be last... I'm just now getting it. the FIRST one you load will be the last and vice versa. But it took me FOUR tries to upload today so it's staying. Ok.. here us us at Disney. I've never had a turkey leg. Have you? I thought I'd try one for, you know, $5.00 (it's Disney). It was not so good and so very greasy.

Prayers
I read a blog called Bring the Rain (LOVE IT!) and last week she posted some prayers that she prays over her girls. I love the idea of using Scripture to pray for Gracie. I need to practice it more. These are the prayers that she gave. I copied them, added Grace's name and then am going to print them and post them in different places in our house. I also added a button on the side so you can link directly to them on her website (www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com) God is good and prayers work!
1. When they wake up: "Let the morning bring (child's name) word of your unfailing love, for she has put her trust in You. Show (her/him) the way (she/he) should go, for to you (he/she) lifts up her soul." (Adapted from Psalm 143:8)
2. When they are getting dressed: "Therefore, as God's chosen child, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Lord, help (him/her) bear with others and forgive whatever grievances (he/she) has against others. Help (him/her) forgive as the Lord forgave (him/her). And over all these virtues, help (him/her) put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." (Adapted from Colossians 3:12-14)
3. While they are eating: "Teach (child's name) the secret of being content in any and every situation whether well-fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Teach (him/her) that (he/she) can do everything through him who gives (him/her) strength." (Adapted from Philippians 4:12-13)
4. When they go out of the house: "(Name of child), do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will." (Adapted from Romans 12:2)
5. While they are taking a bath: Lord, give (name of child) clean hands and a pure heart, and let (him/her) not lift (his/her) soul to an idol or swear by what is false. Let (him/her) receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God (his/her) Savior. Let (him/her) be part of the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. (Adapted from Psalm 24:4-6)
6. When they are going to bed: "The Lord Your God is with you; he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, be will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

(Adapted from Philippians 2:14-16)
