Mini Vacation

We took a few days and went to Brad and Diane's cottage. It was great! Shane put the pier in and said it was C.O.L.D. :)
Gracie bonded with Doug. They shared a special moment. :)

She wore her super cool shades down to the water. They came off as soon as she could get her hands free!
We went to the Shipshewana flea market! We got there in the afternoon and it was so much fun and guess what- not crowded. We even parked in the front row.
Shane shared his ice cream with Grace. She needs to work on licking a cone.....

A sign of SUMMER!

A true sign of summer... CORN ON THE COB! And Gracie got to experience her first ever last week. She liked it!

Hammock time

We had a great day with "aunt" jodi and "aunt" joanne last week. Gracie hung out with us all morning and discovered the joy of IHOP butterscotch pancakes. Seriously they are like dessert. Have a great time next week ladies!

First trip to the Library

This was Gracie's first trip to the library! I showed her the books and she got right to work. There was a lot to do with them all being stacked so neatly on the shelves. She took her role seriously and didn't get sidetracked at all. With all of those books to pull off, there was no time for playing around. We had a good first trip to the library and I don't think they ladies minded too much at all of the books they had to reshelf! :)

Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day. Gracie got me a card and we spent the day outside planting things. (she directed)

I am so thankful to have this precious little bundle of energy. She makes me smile every day and I love watching her learn and grow. Being a mom is one of the best things ever.

Big Girl Bath time

For those of you who think she's perfect (and I know you all do!) Gracie had her first real temper tantrum in the bath last week. I put some new toys in the tub and she was having a great time. When it was time to get out I let the water start to drain and I started collecting the toys "saying goodbye" to them as we went. Well she wasn't too keen on getting out. She started screaming, flinging her hands around and then she even flopped face first into the water! (it was low and I was right there, no worries). She was M.A.D. Thankfully she got over it quickly!

11 Months

11 Months old! I can hardly believe it! :)at 11 months Gracie:

• waves bye bye, claps, and will give you five
• still does not sign anything-but we're working on it!
• LOVES doggies

• has started to notice others. She likes other kids, makes faces at people in stores and also is getting pretty attached to mom and dad
• realizes that others are noticing her! She now covers her face with her hands or hides her face in our shirts, or even just turns away shyly. :)

• is drinking big girl milk! We started on Friday and so far she likes it! She did really well with it two times today. My little baby is growing up! (sniff)
• does NOT like grass. I planted a little garden today and she sat on a blanket eating puffs. Shane sat near her and tried to get her to crawl to him but there was no way she was moving off of the blanket
• likes to play chase. Shane or I will hold her and the other will chase and she squeals and laughs. It's priceless.
