What???!

No lie. She came downstairs and said "look mom I am like a teenager and I have hair over my eyes(bangs) take a pic and send it to Kelsey (our friend)". What?????!!!!! Haha!!

Then Graham came down and said "Mom, I told she I don't like she hair but I like she clothes." Ha!

These kids keep me smiling!

5 months of Gavin

Last week we celebrated 5 months of Gavin.
At 5 months Gavin is:
  • learning so much it's interrupting his sleep!  He's had a few rough weeks of naps and nighttime but he's slowly getting it straightened out.
  • still sleeps swaddled.  It's frustrating when he gets flipped over but he hates to not be swaddled.  We are working on a slow transition.
  • chewing on everything!  He loves to dive bomb for his paci, your hands, or whatever he can get to his mouth
  • loves his toes!  He found them a few weeks ago and likes to grab his feet
  • rolls from belly to back and sometimes from back to belly
  • still has a high pitched giggle and laugh!

Life around here

Around here we are getting new (to us!) sinks.  MAJOR improvement from the pedestal sink that did not work for our kids!
We decorated for Easter by trying to make yarn eggs.  Kinda worked. :)
The man of the house did what he could to make the mama happy and let her shop and buy LOTS and LOTS of flowers.  He's a keeper.
Around here we are read for great memories outside with our beautiful flowers and chairs.  Happy WARM WEATHER! :)

Four Months!

Gavin turned four months a week ago.  It was last Thursday, the 24th.  Only I completely missed it on the 24th and on the 25th put him in his little onesie with his 4 month sticker and took pics and told people "He's four months today!"  I even knew it was the 25th.  Then that night I realized... oh, wait.  he was born on the 24th!  HAHA!

So it's not because I love him less that I don't post as much.  It's not because I'm taking less pictures.  I have a ton.  It's because I'm tired!  So tired that I have zero desire to get up, get the camera, find the cord, download pics and then do the blog.  The reason you get these here is because I learned how to text pictures from my phone to the blog. :)  So here ya go!
At four months Gav:
  • is wearing cloth diapers when we are at home.  (is he not so cute?!).  It hasn't been that much more work and I've had these diapers since Graham was little so no extra money.  We have enough diapers that it's only an extra load every 3 days or so.  And... he's never had a blow out in cloth, but many in disposable.  just sayin. :)

is 12 lbs 8 oz and 26 inches long!  He's something like the 3rd percentile for weight and 75 percentile for height!  Long and lean, that's how my babies always are!
Has found his hands and chews on them ALL.THE.TIME.  I don't remember my other two doing this as much or really being drooly.  I need to find my bibs!
  • can roll from belly to back easily and has rolled from back to belly a few times
  • is sleeping....  ok.  Not all night for sure, but he gets up to nurse two or three times and mostly goes right back to sleep.  The worst of it is that I go upstairs and sit in the chair to nurse him.  Then I fall asleep in the chair (he's safe in my arms and on the boppy, no worries) and wake up an hour or two later with a kink in my neck. I feel like I want a do over for that hour of sleep every time!

  • Has kept most of his hair but has some great combover action going on the sides.  See this?  Almost non above his ears.  Ha!
  • is developing a bit of stranger anxiety, or mostly he just wants his mama when he's tired. If he is, no one else will do (I don't mind though!) Other than that he loves people!
We love our sweet boy.  He's got that shy grin going on right now and when you make him smile he ducks his head.  Love him so.

Dear Grace

Dear Gracie,

I love how you love on Gavin.  You are such a good big sister.  You can make him smile like no other.
I love how you are growing and learning.  You came home from a night away with your Dad and Grandpa and I swear you grew up 5 years.  The look on your face, your actions, even wearing jeans (she does not like clothes with buttons closures!).
I love how you are finding your independence.  Getting dressed yourself, doing chores, taking showers.  Even riding the BIG water slides! It doesn't come without growing pains and there are many parts of that you do not enjoy but you are finding it nonetheless.
I love your imagination.  You can play for hours with dolls, legos, even sticks outside.  You've taken to making "creations" with twigs, roots, dirt, and water.  I love it.

I think we are a lot alike and that means sometimes we butt heads, but Grace, someday when you read this I hope you know how proud of you I am and how much I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.

Love,
Mom

Dear Gav

Dear Gav,
I don't want to forget-
-the heavy feeling of you sleeping so hard on my chest.
-they way you wake up sweaty and a bit cranky ready to eat NOW
-your superman stretch, both arms up in the air like you're flying :)
-your sweet little baby cry. It's changing to a bigger baby cry but for now it makes me smile
-your first laughs. They sound like you're trying to catch your breath as you squeal.
- the way your eye light up when you see your daddy, or sister, or brother
-how you search for your paci in the middle of the night right after nursing and then settle down to sleep in my arms.
-how special you are and how you have made our family so so happy.

Love,
Mama

Bath time

I can't get enough of this sweet smile.  Seriously
